Death toll rises to sixteen at Meethotamulla garbage dump
The death toll at Meethotamulla has risen to 16, Army Spokesman Brigadier Roshan Seneviratne said.
A section of the Meethotamulla garbage dump collapsed yesterday destroying over 100 houses.
The injured were rushed to the Colombo National Hospital.
The tri-forces are involved in rescue operations which are continuing.
