Malinga back Mumbai chase against Lions

Malinga back, Mumbai chase against Lions

Toss Mumbai Indians chose to field v Gujarat Lions

Everything went right for Mumbai Indians at the toss. Minutes after practising against wrong'uns from Karn Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar in his final knock, Rohit Sharma came out to win the toss and announced the return of Lasith Malinga, who replaced Tim Southee. As expected, Mumbai chose to field, knowing how easier it has been to chase. Rohit also said there was some dew expected in the last 10 overs of the match.
For Gujarat Lions, things found a way to go wrong. Aaron Finch's luggage didn't arrive with the rest, and without his kit he was unable to play. Another big hitter, Jason Roy, replaced him. It remained to be seen whether he would open or if Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum would continue batting at the top.
Munaf Patel, who has played only two T20 matches in the 18 months, replaced left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati. He has good stats against Mumbai Indians - 41 balls, 43 runs, two wickets - but those came from two matches in 2008 and 2009.
