Boy kidnapped from Gampola bus stand.
Police have begun investigation into the kidnapping of a two-year-old boy from the Gampola bus stand.
The incident had taken place on May 2.
The mother of the child had made a police entry saying a relative kidnapped the boy.
She had sent her son with her relative, a cousin, to deliver lunch to her husband but said the lunch had not been delivered and her relative has also absconded.
Initial investigations reveal the suspect is suffering from a mental illness and is on medication for it.
Police have launched a special team to apprehend the suspect and rescue the boy.
